Why is it 「ロワイヤル」? – japanese.stackexchange.com

Always loved the "Battle royale" anime, but am curious about why in the Japanese title it's「ロワイヤル」. Shouldn't it be something like「ローヤル」, if you wanted to match the French pronunciation? Why the「ワ」? ...
